Black and white movies don't belong in the past. Some of the best films out there have no color to them. Below are some great black and white movies.
~ Casablanca – PG rated, starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Paul Henreid.
Casablanca is in French Morocco and the last destination for those fleeing the Nazis before they reach America. Rick Blaine owns a cafe there and avoids trouble at all costs, sticking his neck out for no one. Then his ex-lover, Ilsa, and her Resistance leader husband arrive and she begs him to help them escape before the Nazis seize her husband. He refuses, but as the clock ticks and the sparks fly again he's forced to choose between helping the couple or letting the Nazis have their prey.
~ It's a Wonderful Life – PG rated, starring James Stewart and Donna Reed
George Bailey is convinced his life is a failure and decides it would be better if he were dead. Thankfully his guardian angel Clarence arrives in the nick of time, determined to change his mind and show him just how important an ordinary man's life is.
~ The Bishop's Wife – G rated, starring Carey Grant, Loretta Young, and David Niven
Henry Brougham is obsessed with building a beautiful cathedral for God's glory. But he has a problem getting the funds and his ambition drives him to frustration – and away from his family. One night he cries out to God for guidance and is answered by a charming angel named Dudley. Dudley tells Henry he doesn't need to worry about doing it all. What Henry doesn't do, Dudley will take care of. But Henry is unhappy with the arrangement, particularly when Dudley becomes a favorite with his wife, Julia, and their daughter Debbie. Henry is forced to answer the question, which is more important, his work or his family?

Those all sound great! I love me a good black 'n' white every once and awhile. I watched It's a wonderful life, but in color. Another good movie is Sergeant York, with Gary Cooper, a very good movie
I haven't heard of that one before. I'll have to check it out!
Not a fan of Casablanca. However, loved It's a Wonderful Life and The Bishops Wife. All of these movies speak to the power of faith, hope and love, and what we are truly capable of when we listen to our hearts!
I agree! It's one of the reasons I love these movies.
I enjoyed all these movies, especially The Bishop's Wife. These remind me of a time when entertainment was good AND clean!
Haha, yes, so true. I've also watched some episodes from a 50's TV show called The Twilight Zone, it's a sci-fi that has you asking questions and on the edge of your seat, some of the episodes are scary but clean, I watch it with my Dad sometimes
I do love Its a Wonderful Life! Its hilarious and has a good message!
Yes, it does!
